The HPR Club is the founder of the versatile gundog movement in South Africa and was started some 31 years ago by a group of enthusiasts wishing to develop and improve the natural abilities of the versatile breeds that hunt, point and retrieve. Since then our  club has grown to the largest gundog club in South Africa.

Our club  subscribes to international gundog       working  standards       through  our association      and membership of the

Weltverband Deutsch       Kurzhaar,

National Field Trial        Association,

Kennel Union of South Africa

and through the last named organization, the

World Dog Association        (FCI).
